About Blåsmark
Blåsmark is a project located approximately 16 km southwest of Piteå, about 7 km from Hemmingsmark, around 8 km from Blåsmark, and about 10 km from Svensbyn in Piteå municipality. Fu-Gen is investigating a project area of approximately 900 hectares where up to 15 wind turbines could be built, with a total height of up to 230 meters. The area is designated in Piteå municipality’s comprehensive plan as a suitable area for wind power. The project has previously received environmental permits for 25 wind turbines with a maximum height of 150 meters. Fu-Gen’s ambition is to establish fewer wind turbines with a higher installed capacity, which in turn provides higher energy production.

Benefits for Piteå Municipality
We are working on renewable energy projects in the Nordics to accelerate the climate transition, supply the industry with clean energy, promote local development, and strengthen energy supply security.
For wind power projects to succeed, it is essential that both residents and municipalities benefit from the value created when land is made available. In this way, wind power not only contributes to the production of fossil-free electricity but also generates concrete and long-term benefits for the local community.
As part of this commitment, Fu-Gen offers a so-called “community wind fund” – a setup designed to strengthen the local economy. Just like our investments in green energy, the fund is a long-term commitment. Funds from the local wind fund are distributed annually throughout the entire lifespan of the wind farm, benefiting the surrounding area and in close collaboration with the local community. The funds can, for example, be used for initiatives that improve local infrastructure, strengthen tourism, or preserve and develop natural and cultural environments in and around Piteå Municipality.
